21st Century Academic Forum (21CAF) through its global network of academic researchers, K-20 teachers, policymakers, and employers has developed a school affiliation program to encourage and support schools to “21st centurize” their curriculum in the pursuit of preparing students for the demands of the world of work and beyond in the 21st century. Through the 21CAF School Affiliation Process, teachers are empowered to create a more engaging learning environment that results in the systematic preparation of their students to thrive in a digitally and globally interconnected world.

The primary aim of the 21CAF School Affiliation Process is to promote school improvement through an intense concentration on the infusion of 21st century skills into a school’s teaching, learning, and assessment programs. 21CAF employs a “transdisciplinary” approach through a network of educators, researchers, policymakers and employers to design an educational strategy that more accurately reflects the educational needs of the workforce and beyond. The 21CAF School Affiliation Program does not seek to replace a school’s curriculum but rather offers a “supplementary” curriculum to work harmoniously with any existing curriculum without causing disruptions. Teachers are incentivized to participate in regular professional development activities (face-to-face and online) to use the full suite of tools and resources provided by 21caf to help ensure 21st century readiness for students.

At the center of the 21CAF Framework are Life and Work skills that will prepare students for increasingly complex life and work environments. These skills include:

Critical Thinking | Problem Solving | Communication | Collaboration

The teaching, learning, and assessment of higher order skills like Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Communication, and Collaboration requires teachers to have expertise in creating environments in which students can both learn and demonstrate their competencies in these skills. 21CAF provides teachers with easy to use resources that come packaged in its proprietary 21CAF ToolKit.

BENEFITS of Becoming a 21CAF Affiliated School

21CAF understands that private schools exist in a competitive market that requires establishing and maintaining an advantage over their rivals. The 21CAF Affiliation Program provides schools with a valuable marketing tool that sends a strong message to parents that they are serious about preparing their child for the world of further education, work, and society. One unique feature of the 21CAF School Affiliation Program is helping schools to showcase their students learning to parents and the community, making their progress and proficiency something that can be witnessed in person.

Simply put, parents want to provide the best education available for their children. The 21CAF supplementary curriculum delivers the best education available for their children. Parents can also feel a renewed sense of confidence in their children’s teachers, who, by going through the 21CAF School Affiliation process belong to an elite global network of teaching professionals.

21CAF is committed to upholding the highest standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across our School Affiliation Network. Affiliation is a voluntary activity initiated by the institution that requires a rigorous self-evaluation and an independent, objective appraisal of the overall educational quality by peers. Affiliation emphasizes quality assurance and a commitment to continuous quality enhancement.
